The 1970’s

Although the year of 1970 proved to be the Club’s worst season on record (we finished second from bottom of Section 2 and fielded just one team in the Wrexham League) the decade itself produced many of the players still playing for the Club today.

End of the Decade

By 1979 the Club was in a far better shape and fielded two teams in the Wrexham League, one in the Premier Division and another in Division 3.

As stated above many of our current players began their bowling careers in the 1970’s. However we only have one photograph from the 1970’s and this was taken in late 1979. Fortunately, during this decade the Wrexham Leader published match cards in full, detailing all of the players concerned in the fixtures of the day.
